  • Title: Unconscious
  • Logline: A young detective investigates the attempted murder of a black teenage boy in a rural area after being transferred from London. With the boy in an induced coma and the pressure rising, will she be able to solve the case?
  • Genre: Murder Mystery Crime drama (?), female led crime drama.
  • Audience: Mainly white females due to the predominantly white female cast. Also probably part of the C1/B socio-economic group.
  • Unique selling point: Follows an attempted murder rather than an actual murder and therefore, eventually get the victim's perspective. It also follows two female detectives and has the victim being male, which isn't normally seen in crime dramas.
  • Convergence: The title will feature on both productions and they will also both have similar fonts and formats. An image iconic to the show will feature throughout the newspaper spread and the appear in the show. Colours fitting to the programme will be used in the newspaper spread to link the two products together more and

Evaluation

Overall, I think the Audio-Visual aspect of the coursework could have gone a lot better. I was happy with the narrative and what I got filmed but I struggled when it didn't reach the required time limit. Therefore, I had to rush to film some more footage and edit it together to make the title sequence which I wasn't too pleased with. There's also a lot of fillers between the dialogue as the people playing the characters weren't too confident with the script. I felt a lot better about my magazine cover as I think I used a lot of the magazine conventions that I wanted to use. I think my double page spread was maybe a bit too overcrowded but I wanted to make sure I could fit in some stills of the programme in order to have more convergence between the two products. I also feel a lot better about the main photos used for the magazine as they had direct eye contact with he audience whereas the ones I previously used didn't.

Possible Location 2

I personally think this location is better than the previous one as it has more open space and a clearer entrance. It is similarly derelict, contributing to the atmosphere and tone of the scene. Also, it is also clearly in a rural environment, so stays with what I wanted for the mise-en-scene. However, it is quite close to some allotments so there may be people nearby making some noise but it shouldn't be too distracting.
