Your new TV programme is something you’ve never typically done before, what about this specific show caused you to want to take part in something new?
Well, I’ve been debating whether or not to try out a different genre of TV for quite a while now and I've never been particularly sure which genre I wanted to try out first. To be completely honest I wasn’t even considering crime drama, I was thinking more of a family drama or soap but when I saw the script for this show and the whole premise of it, I just had to try out for it. I thought that it was so comfortably different from other crime dramas that are available right now, with the inclusion of two female lead detectives and a male victim and also the whole element of it being an attempted murder. I just found it to be quite unique I guess. Also, when I heard Jasmine Allen was going to take part in it I just had to be a part of it because, you know, she’s amazing.

Has it been quite a different atmosphere on set compared to your previous projects?
Not dramatically to be fair. We have a massive laugh whenever the camera isn’t rolling and, I hate to be a cliché but, everyone’s just one big happy family. One thing that was different though was that I did actually have to learn my lines properly. With comedy, you can just ad-lib any lines you can’t really remember or can’t get right and it's all ok and, you know, sometimes it works out a bit better. But with these guys, if you make a mistake you can’t just make a silly face and move on, you have to go back and start all over again until you actually get it right. That took me a bit of time to get used to.

Going back to your relationship with other cast and crew members, you’ve struck up quite a bond with your co-star if I'm correct. How did your little duo begin?
It's quite funny to be honest because I was expecting her to be a completely different person, personality wise, then she actually is. I thought, ‘oh Jasmine Allen, she’s a superstar she mustn’t really want to know me, and I don’t blame her.’ so I tried to be quite quiet around her and keep myself to myself but then after we wrapped the pilot, she took us, the main cast, out to dinner and we just couldn’t stop talking. It was a bit of a different work environment when we went back to film the other episodes and the rest of the crew are probably fed up of us two being annoying all the time. To be honest, we’re probably worse when we are in a scene with Jake or anyone else as we all just get on so well, the laughter never stops.
